Hypnosis Mind Control: Some Simple Tricks to Control People’s Minds
Hypnosis mind control doesn’t work in real life in quite the same way as it does in the movies. So if you’re expecting to be able to take over someone’s mind and turn them into a living zombie, you’re probably going to be disappointed. But that doesn’t mean you can’t control their mind in more subtle ways. Advertisers do this all the time – now it’s your turn!
1. Help people day dream
Our resistance levels go down when someone tells us a story. After all, stories are fictional aren’t they? But by telling a story, you can control the way the mind works at a deep level. The hypnotist Milton Erickson was famous for doing this – the whole Ericksonian method revolves around weaving stories that relate to the problem the person is trying to resolve. You don’t have to go as deep as this – simply asking someone to imagine something is a good start and you can often see them drift off or watch as their gaze changes. Of course, once they’re day dreaming they’re ripe for you to plant hypnotic suggestions and control parts of their mind.
2. Use embedded commands
These aren’t as technical as they sound. You may like to think of them as subtle changes in the way things are phrased. Such as that last sentence where I suggested that “you may like” which was the preface to the embedded command of “think of them”. Play around with the way you phrase things and you can start to weave commands into a lot of sentences you use. Or you can use them in the third person such as “I was telling Bill that he had to learn to relax more often” – if you use a subtle change of emphasis for the italicised part of that sentence, you’re actually using it to begin to control the mind of the person you’re speaking to.
3. Use a post hypnotic suggestion
Teachers and parents are good at this even if they don’t realize it. A few words such as “you’ll never be any good at playing the piano” go a lot further in our minds. The words get dragged down into our subconscious mind which, in turn, starts to believe them and make them come true.
4. Paint pictures in people’s minds
Not physically of course, that would be daft! But help them to imagine a scenario, even if they almost instantly dismiss it. Our imagination is vivid given even half a chance. Help your subjects to imagine things – embellish on the pictures they’re already drawing in their own mind and then use that state of heightened imagination to casually drop in whatever it is you really want to do. As with embedded commands, you can use other people and objects in their imagination as “hooks” for what you really want to happen.
5. Make the idea seem as though it was theirs
Really sneaky. After all, you pursue your own ideas much more readily than someone else’s. Learn to “seed” ideas into other people’s minds and then sound pleasantly surprised when, in a few days or weeks, they come up with the suggestion you planted as if it was their own idea. They won’t remember that you planted the seed of the idea earlier. This works remarkably well and gets much better results than almost anything else I’ve suggested. Sure, it may take a bit of time but the results are so powerful that they’re well worth the wait.
