Metal Outdoor Patio Chairs
Metal Patio Chairs have become the seating standard for both residential and commercial applications. They offer a combination of durability and beauty that can not be matched by plastic or wood. These chairs will remain functional for years or decades and are frequently found in homes, restaurants, porches, patios, and recreational areas. These chairs are virtually maintenance free and utilize the latest technology in protective coatings.
One of the most advantageous features of Metal Patio Chairs is that many models are stackable. This design feature, stackability, is particularly useful for commercial users that sponsor numerous events. Chairs that stack can be stored up to ten chairs high. They can also be quickly transported by two man teams and four wheel dollies. These chairs are very mobile can be found at sporting events, park areas, and indoor events.
Today most if not all Metal Patio Chairs are covered with a copolymer-based thermoplastic powder coating. This coating is the latest technology available and is far superior to the traditional paint coatings of the past. A thermoplastic powder coating is applied with an electrical charge. The base metal is given an electrical charge and the powder coating is given the opposite electrical charge (positive / negative). When the powder coating is “blown” onto the metal it adheres or “bonds” with the strength of the attraction of opposite electrical charges. Usually it is applied to a thickness of twenty five to thirty millimeters. The base metal is then “baked” and the powder coating molds itself into a tight forming “skin” around all outer surfaces of the base metal. The result is a smooth and very durable coating that will not fade or discolor for the life of the product. In addition, the thermoplastic powder coating will not warp, peel, or crack during its lifetime. This coating will protect the base metal (steel) from corrosion because the outer surface of the metal can not come into contact with air or water.
Another advantage of Metal Patio Chairs that have thermoplastic coatings is that the coatings are easily repaired if accidentally damaged or vandalized. Damaged areas can be heated with an industrial heat gun and the thermoplastic will melt and rebind itself. Most repairs on thermoplastic coatings are not noticeable. In addition, thermoplastic coatings are vandal resistant because spray paint has very poor adhesion properties with these coatings. Spray paint can be cleaned off with a standard household cleaner and a bit of “elbow grease.” This has got to be very disheartening to vandals and hopefully they will not return.
Metal Patio Chairs are available in a number of designs and colors. Some of the popular design styles are perforated, diamond pattern, rod style, wire style, and welded style. These modern design style metal chairs are very popular because they are inherently attractive and weigh less than the standard metal chair. They weigh about forty-five pounds and most models are designed to be stackable. There are many color options available and they include red, black, green, orange, teal, blue, yellow, navy, purple, brown, sandstone, beige, burgundy, gray, and granite. And these chairs can be used for indoor as well as outdoor functions. They are attractive, quality furniture items that can be conveniently relocated for events or stored when not in use.
