The World’s Best Soccer Teams!

As of April 28, 2010, the top five football teams, according to the International Federation of football FIFA are as follow: The first team is Brazil, the second team is Spain, the 3rd team is Portugal and finally the 5th team is Italy.

The Royal Spanish Football Federation controls the Spanish national football team which is the team representing the country Spain. In the history of the FIFA World Cup, Spain has appeared for twelve times starting from the year of 1934 while they achieved the best result at the same tournament in the year 1950 when they took the fourth place.

Last July 2008, Spain topped the FIFA World Ranking for the first time in history from becoming the sixth nation and the first who never won the World Cup. The Spain tried to win in 35 consecutive matches and went undefeated from November 2006 to June 2009. For the record, Spain had 10 wins from ten South Africa 2010 qualifiers. The team is also known under names such as La Furia Roja which means The Red Fury and La Roja which means The Red One.

The Portuguese Football Federation governs the Portuguese national football team, the team representing the country of Portugal. Their first appearance in the FIFA World Cup was in the year 1966. They attained the 4th place in the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
