Whether you are a candidate with experience or you are a fresher/ newly groomed MBA carrying a tag of B-School, finding the right job can be difficult, here are few tips which will give you a healthy kick start to your carrier.

1. Gather full knowledge about the Company you are applying, it’s better to research on internet visiting company’s Website (Look for Vision, Mission, Core Value, Promoter /Director).

2. Do not just jump to grab a job because of the name & friends are also applying.

3. First job is not as sweet as walking into college on first day, it brings you the practical business jungle and mind you it grabs.

4. Get the basic profile analysis done. Search for points on which you have the core ability then the others.

5. Do not fake on about academic records in an interview; it may lead you into problem later.

6. Be Calm, Optimistic and a person full of passion during the interview.

7. Think from the perspective of the Interviewer; imagine yourself how you can be fruitful to the company.

8. Do Self Analysis – SWOT Analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat), you can visit website such as Tickle.com and take a test to self examine.

9. Never negotiate package on first go; Let the interviewer break the ice on the topic.

10. If you have problem regarding job transfer, please specify them when it is asked.

11. You must know the work culture/ policies of the company and adhere to it. (It’s always better to self examine by visiting once. Just ask after selection, I would be keen to see the workplace.)

12. Know with whom you are working, a let gone step by many, DO NOT MISS IT Very vital as it will mushroom you for further life.

13. Acceptance of peers/team member is important. At first you should analyze their behavior and mould accordingly, and rather they put your structure on them.

14. Be flexible and accept comment with positive gesture, be opening ended with team/peers.

Having said all, my personal suggestion would be:

– Never mix emotion with business. Being dedicated and passionate is important but having heart in business gives a lot of stress
– Do not reveal your secrets to peers, all need not to be said, they are not your childhood friends.
– Do not search lifetime buddy in the same Department ☺
– On a serious note: Success never comes cheap or else it would lose it taste.
– Be patient. Patience has the caliber too shake mountains and it teaches many fruitful lesson in life…Success comes to those who deserve it.
– Agree with the Boss most of the time. Be true when needed. After all everybody likes praise & acceptance.
– Plan your day before hand; always make a habit to jot down Schedule/ To Do list for the day & IMPLEMENT.
– Last but not the least, worship who brought you a true day in life and made you capable (Pray or meditate at least once in a day to clean your Aura!)
