8 Researched Topics For Your College Essay
I see you are having a difficult time trying to figure out what to write about for your college essay? Sometimes, professors will give you a specific topic to write about, but there are also times when you can pick out any topic that you would like to write on. Although that might sound like a great option, this can potentially leave you clueless as to what to write on.
Here are some researched topics that will help jump-start your brainstorming ideas for your college essay:
1) Should juvenile offenders be tried and punished just like adults? There are certain crimes, such as murder, that make the juvenile offender tried and jailed as an adult. Do you think that is fair? What if the offender really learned his or her lesson? After all, this kid is under eighteen years of age.
2) Should the federal government provide health care for all citizens who cannot afford their own? This is a hot topic even though the healthcare bill has already been approved. Do you think this is a great system? The increased tax and premiums on health insurance are major concerns for citizens of the United States.
3) Is rehabilitation of felony offenders possible? Desirable? Is there such a thing as rehabilitation for felons? Studies have shown that many offenders will repeat committing crimes over and over again. This can be a very tough college essay to argue.
4) Should bartenders be held responsible for the behavior of their patrons? What do you think about this issue? If the drunken patron leaves the bar, and then gets into an accident, the bartender and the bar can be held responsible for what happened to the person who got into a car accident. The bartender will have to make tough choices because they want to make more tips, but at the same time, not have to worry about the people who are drinking.
5) Should tobacco companies be held responsible for smoking-related illnesses and deaths? Tobacco companies are known to be sued left and right every single day. Should they be responsible for anything even though the people who smoke are well aware that smoking is bad for them? Can they be sued for causing lung cancer or other related issues?
6) Should unapproved drugs be made available as a last resort to patients with conditions for which conventional treatments are known to be ineffective? This is very interesting because what if this special drug is the only thing that will possibly work on the patient? Should the government be able to approve such thing? What will be the consequences if the unapproved drug caused death or some type of severe illness? This college essay should be very interesting to read.
7) To what extent should bilingual education be offered in public schools? Should schools even offer such a program? Some people can argue that this will confuse the students especially younger children for trying to understand two different languages.
8) Should a rating system be required for song lyrics? Is this necessary or just a waste of time? How will this affect the rap/hip-hop industry? And other industries alike?
These are just some of the examples for your college essay. The ideas are unlimited, but sometimes it can be difficult to come up with a good topic to write about.
