How to Display at a Trade Show
If you are looking to promote your company then there are few better opportunities than being able to showcase your business and generate sales leads than at an industry trade show. If your display is to be a memorable one then it is important that your company name is clearly displayed, the company’s logo must clear and any company mottos or declarations of intent must be easily remembered. If your company has a website then make sure the address is prominently placed. Tabletop displays are an excellent way of utilising multimedia to promote your service
It should go without saying that your company’s name must be prominently displayed throughout the display. Any logos must be created in clean, easy to read type. If you can repeat the company name several time throughout the display then this will ensure that passing customers will see and remember it. Unfortunately not everyone will stop to look at your display so if they can at least catch a glance of your stall in their peripheral vision then this is better than nothing.
Not only must you use a clear font for your company logo, but the use of additional pictures or graphics will help to draw attention to the display. Don’t feel obliged to fill your display with pictures as if anything it will distract from the message you are looking to put across. Don’t underestimate the power of white space as it will give a sense of balance to your display. Try to find a balance between schematics and whitespace so that any information you are looking to get across will be easily readable. People want to be able to look at something they will be able to get information from at a glance. People who are walking around a trade show will be discouraged if they see what appears to be an overcomplicated image or diagram.
It is important that your company has a clear mission statement that summarises your product and services effectively. It should provide just enough information so that passing customers will be able to quickly determine whether they want some additional information. Trade shows will have lots of different booths and people wont want to stop at every single one so a bold headline that stands out will help them to decide which stalls they wish to stop at. A large digital display with your company’s website prominently displayed will also help to generate interest.
It is important to rememeber that the whole idea behind displaying your company at a trade event is to find customers and generate sales leads with a view to converting these to revenue. It will help if you can find a way to get potential customers involved with your stand. this could be in the form of hands on product demonstrations or perhaps you could make use of interactive displays that passers by will naturally want to try out. The more interactive your display stall is, the more it will stick in the memories of those who attended the trade show. This in turn should increase the likelihood of people following up and contacting your company afterwards.
