Planning Your Kids’ Birthday Parties
If you have children, then you have to host numerous birthday parties for them. The more the children you have, the more the hectic the birthday parties tend to get; because the kids are always trying to one up their siblings.
Planning birthday parties is a handful and they have the power to drive you insane. So what should you do to keep your sanity intact? How can you plan a party with the least bit of drama on your child’s part? Here’s how; first off, don’t worry and waste your time with making the home spick and span and cleaning up each and every nook and cranny. Because they are kids, they don’t care whether the birthday party room is clean or not; besides, five minutes in and the room will start looking like a mess.
Don’t be overly anxious about matching plates, glasses, spoons or napkins. All that the kids want are utensils to gobble down the food. In fact, they would only be too happy to use their bare hands to eat.
Before you decide on anything about the part, first think about what the party theme is going to be. Will you be taking the kids to the zoo, the amusement part or to the nearest burger place or a party at the house? Planning ahead will save you a lot of tension. Ask your child what they would want to do for their party. Don’t force them to do what you want.
If you are going out for food, then you should speak to the place’s manager before hand and go over the menu and food’s ingredients. Take special care of the various allergies of the children. Besides the food, you must also plan ahead about your transportation. How you are going to get all the children from your home to the party venue.
If you are holding the party at home, in your backyard or your patio, it will be a smart precaution to decorate one of the rooms as well in case there is rain or bad weather. This way the party can be shifted into the home easily, without dampening your child’s happy moment.
Next, make a list of all the kids or friends that are going to be coming. Only invite as many people as you think you can cater to comfortably. Next, decide over the activities and games for the party with your child. Organize games that he or she is most excited about. Also, keep gifts for the winner of each of the activity or game. Nothing fancy, an extra goody bag would do. Limit where the activities and games take place, so as to limit the mess making it easier for you to clean up later.
Planning your child’s birthday party may seem extremely hectic, especially if you are a working parent, but if you follow and think ahead about the aspects of the party as mentioned above, planning a party will seem as an almost nothing feat.
