It has been noticed that hyperthyroidism can also be genetically transferred. Like hypothyroidism, this also is not completely curable. However, preventive measures can be taken to control its growth.

Both hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism needs preventive or controlling means to curb its growth and bring down the thyroid gland to normal levels.
