Washington Huskies 2010 Preview

There are few fans that have not given up on Washington. This team has been in more than a slump, they have been in a full-fledged nose dive heading for the mountains looking to crash into it and burst into flames. While this comparison may be a little harsh, it is the way that many of the fans feel about the team. That is the bad news, the good news is that the teams is on resurgence and as a result are looking to make an impressive run this season. There comes a time when even the most loyal of fans, have to just write the team off, and send them on their way. This is due to the slump that the team has been in for the past few seasons. There are a lot of fans that are looking at this team as being a disgrace to the entire state, all of this being said, there is some good news for the team and for its fans. The team as a whole is making efforts to improve and get back to their winning ways. This however may take several months before the efforts are fully able to be experienced when it comes time to get the team on track and head for the BCS bowl games.

One area that will need to be adjusted is the passing game. There has not been a good quarterback in the position for quite a few years. This position will be the focus of the team in the season when they take to the field in the new season. This may seem like a common sense place to begin when a team is looking to fix problems. The quarterback is looked upon as being the leader of the team; this is the player that makes the big decisions when it is time to decide on a play, this is also important in the fact that the quarterback is the one that is responsible for keeping the team focused. The huskies need a player that they can call a leader and take pride in knowing that they are on top of their game in the long run.

Running is another place that the team will need to make massive improvements to their overall game planning. There is a severe lack of team organization when it comes to who will run with the ball, this is due to the fact that the team wasted their signing picks and has no real talent that will be able to stand up and lead the team to the promised land of victory. This is going to be a large area that will affect the teams overall moral in regards to winning games.

The defense will be a little better than it was last year; this is not much of an improvement as the team will be looking to improve from a defense that was nonexistent for the most part in 2009. This is why the team saw the most amounts of touchdowns scored against them in a single season in team history. This as a result was a big deflator for the teams overall moral. There is hope that this will be fixed by the time that season rolls around in the next several weeks.
