Not matter what happens common sense prevails. Here are 9 ways to help if contain your income and protection through the coming times.
1) Cut your expenses as soon as possible. There are many middle class families that think they are able to contain their lifestyle even if income decreases minimally. It is best to sit down with your partner and budget. Doing this will ensure money is being used wisely and simply not wasted. Work out where your money is coming in, and going out. Simple management can add up to 10k extra for you each year.
Write down your goals, financial constraints and monthly expenses. Then reward yourself if you are able to keep within your means.
2) You biggest debts and expenses should come first. These are probably things like your health insurance, mortgage, education etc. Take a look at this and work out how you and pay off this quicker. If you have extra room in your house, rent it out. Sometimes extra space is wasted space. Put on your thinking cap and try to work out extra way to make money. It will not only help with your bills but help pay off your debt also.
3) Stay productive. All specific types of work has its dignity. Realize that being unemployed is not being productive. Get out there and work even if you do not receive an income for it. Working free of charge does not help financially but you do gain experience and feel a sense of helping. This contribution is a way of saying you want to do good, and can lead to getting paid work.
4) The stock market will eventually crash again. With this in mind realize there is safety in keeping IRAs and your 401K funds in cash rather than bonds or stock. Remember it is all about capitol preservation and having some sort of an income when you retire. Think about the future, not just about today and tomorrow.
5) Help thy neighbor. In the future, communities will be build on the strength of their own. Join forces with your neighbors and your loved ones and help each other out. Not only will this build stronger relationships with those you love. It will also give you confidence and sense of belonging. Ever heard the saying “A friend in need is a friend indeed!”
6) Become more of an entrepreneur. Realize that negativity and blame is not the way to get through tough times. There are always people who thrive no matter what the economy is doing. They realize the simple fact that there is always supply and demand. It is a simple way for you to make money in the coming time. Sell what people want and you stand to make some good money while everyone else is struggling.
7) Sell unwanted goods. One mans trash is another mans treasure. If you have unwanted goods, that are no longer needed, or you think others can benefit. Hold a garage sale and get rid of them. You will not only get rid of junk, but you can make some nice cash at the same time without little effort.
8) Teach yourself about the economy and how its cycles work. That way you can make money from things you know are hot and stay away from those that are not. The economy in its simple form are just cycles that repeat. Learn how to spot this repetition and make money from this short term and longer term.
9) Get healthy, active and stay fit. A balanced lifestyle of work, rest and play will not only increase your drive, but will lead to being more happy, healthy and easy to live with. Your body is the temple to your soul. Increased anxiety and stress is not healthy and can lead to obesity and negative patterns in your life. Exercise, walk, run and enjoy a more active lifestyle. This will get the endorphins buzzing and you will increase your life expectancy and become more productive day to day.
