5. Power source. Heated towel rails would need power. They can either be connected to your heating system, powered by electricity, or both. The electric kind is easy to set up; there are even free-standing models that just need plugging. You don’t need to mount them on the wall.

6. The finish. The bathroom is one fixture-unfriendly location. It is a relatively humid area and the accessories in the room are subject to getting frequently in contact with water and dampness so it has to have a good finish – one that wouldn’t wear off easily. If yours has a chrome finish, make sure it is of thick chrome plating or it wouldn’t look as good in a few years.
