When many of the little girls here about Barbie dolls they get super excited. Every little girl loves to play with them on hours on end. Nowadays even the grown ups are quite fond of these pretty dolls.

If anyone goes to a birthday party of a small girl, the first thing that comes to their mind when told the word gifts is the Barbie doll. This is the kind of role that a small doll plays in our life.

It was Ruth Mosko of Denver who first gave birth to the idea of a Barbie doll and this was when she watched her daughter barbara more interested in adult dolls than the baby dolls. She was married to Elliot Handler in the year 1938. It was Handler along with Harold Matson who started the company called Mattel, which is where Barbie was manufactured and produced. The name Barbie was named after Ruth’s daughter Barbara and after a few years Barbie got a boyfriend called Ken and he was named after Ruth’s son Kenneth.

Ruth Handler first designed Barbie in the year 1959. It has come a long way since then. In the beginning when the idea of Barbie was put forward Mattel disapproved of the plan. The motive behind the manufacture of the doll was that, the small girls might dream to become a Barbie like adult. In this way, they were able to improve the imagination skills of the girls.

The first time handler took Barbie to Mattel, they disapproved of her because they thought that she would not sell in the market, but after much persuasion, they finally agreed to try her in the market, without the slightest of the hope that she will go on to be the best sold toy.

As the years passed by the girls wanted Barbie’s in all their accessories from bags to shoes, even though the company buyers of the doll where not greatly impressed by these dolls, the girls went mad over them. Though the Barbie’s where introduced in 1959, they had to undergo a lot of changes in their physical appearance over the many years. One change that they made was about the eyes. In the beginning, when she was made, she had narrow and alluring kind of eyes. They changed this and gave her pretty round blue eyes. Now this has become one of her most significant feature.

Barbie’s have come in different forms and facilities that now we even have a facility to change her clothes. We can also comb and decorate her hair. The most recent developments are the pink car and houses of the Barbie.

In the present day, Barbie has improved so much that, a whole family of Barbie along with a car and house are available to purchase. That is the Barbie’s have also improved with time and technology.

The latest addition to the Barbie family is the Barbie and the three musketeers, which has become a great hit among the children. Barbie’s have been a success from the beginning and they are continuing to be so.
