Framed Mirrors
Framed mirrors are found in many different types of public restrooms.
They are so common that we take them for granted, not realizing that they contribute both decorative appeal to the bathroom interiors and save organizations who buy them a great deal of money in replacement costs.
Much of this is due to the nature of stainless steel from which the frames of these mirrors are made.
While not technically “stainless” in nature, this particular type of steel alloy features a resistance to corrosion, stains, and rust that make it a superior choice to cheaper alternatives that are bound to deteriorate much more rapidly in the high-humidity environments of public restrooms and the corrosive atmospheres of manufacturing districts.
This resistance to corrosion does more than protect the steel portion of the framed mirror.
It also protects against the biggest enemy known to any type of mirror-silver spoilage. Silver spoilage is the phenomenon where the backing of the mirror peels off and the reflective surface of the mirror is reduced to a translucent pane or a see-through surface.
Stainless steel framed mirrors that we sell are so resistant to silver spoilage that they are warranted for 15 years against it.
They are also warranted for 15 years against general corrosion and rust.
The frames themselves are made from heavy-gauge stainless steel that mounts to the walls in theft-resistant brackets.
Additional strength is also provided with angle frame and channel frame models. These frames are made from one-piece roll form steel that makes it super-resistant to accidental damage and to intentional vandalism.
Do not let the tough industrial nature of framed mirrors fool you into thinking they are plain-Jane ornaments on a bathroom wall. These mirrors have to look good because they can be used in anything from a single-stall restroom to the facilities in a fine restaurant, hotel, or a public library.
Standard reflective surfaces are composed of a one-and-one-quarter inch glass that creates a clean, contemporary look.
This aesthetic, though simple, matches almost every interior decorating theme and will compliment a wide range of countertops, stainless steel appliances, and bathroom stalls.
The stainless steel used to manufacture the frames is impact resistant and features a satin sheen that catches the eye but minimizes uncomfortable reflective glare. Facilities with higher-than-average light levels can easily use framed mirrors without diminishing the comfort level of the room.
Consistent, quality reflectivity is assured through a triple silvered, electro-copper plating process.
The entire assembly is then sealed with a proprietary backing process to ensure long-lasting usage.
Framed mirrors are also available with alternative reflective surfaces that are much harder than standard glass.
These surfaces include stainless steel, tempered glass, laminate glass, and plexiglass, and they are ideal for areas where there is a high probability of attempted vandalism occurring.
Many public schools, public libraries, convenience stores, family restaurants, bus stops, and subway stations have saved small fortunes by investing a little bit more in a whole lot of preventative protection that paid off down the line.
