b) Relieve stress and tension – The release of the calming hormones also help you to relieve your stress and tensions and thus can help you to lower your blood pressure and mitigate stress related diseases.
c) Strengthens your immune system – This may come as a surprise to many people. Another hormone that is released during having sex and orgasm is dehydroepiandrosterone, commonly known as DHEA. Dehydroepiandrosterone is a steroidal hormone that is produced by the adrenal glands. The body converts DHEA to male and female sex hormones, such as estrogen and testosterone.
This hormone is sometimes also called anti-aging hormone as DHEA helps to balance your immune system, improves your cognition, promotes healthy bone growth and repairs cellular tissues, keeping your skin smooth and supple.
d) Help you to reduce weight – We all know that obesity is unhealthy and what better way to work off those calories than having an exciting romp in bed with your partner?
Scientists estimated that a bout of sexual intercourse burns around 150 calories per half an hour. Now, compare this fat burning process with other activities. Walking for the same period of time also burns about 150 calories, dancing only uses up 130 calories where yoga only burns 130 calories. So having sex can help you to lose weight easily when combined with healthy eating habits and other healthy activities.
e) Help you to live longer – This is very exciting indeed. A British study of 1,000 people found out that those who had at least two orgasms each week had half the death rate of the rest of Britain which admitted to having in sex less than once a month. So have sex and orgasm to live longer!
