Many people grew up doodling on pieces of paper, some imagining that they would grow to be great artists. Many artistic people go on to become audio engineering workers or film and television engineers but never give up their love for the world of artwork, no matter the medium. In today’s high tech world, some of the people who liked to draw have learned how to make digital art with a computer and find it very satisfying and creative.

Graphic design and web design are but two of the many ways one could use their artistic and creative talents to produce beautiful, meaningful works of art with a computer or camera. Many artist may not realize, but sound engineering is also created by computer generated plans and artists. Sounds and music are considered art work and creating them on a computer screen is another way of producing it so it could be added to still shots of art work. These sound recordings could also be integrated into animation, commercials, television and film. This is known as sound engineering and many musically inclined people like to work in this field because it combines the latest technology and music.

Photography is another art medium that many people are dabbling in. They enjoy capturing a beautiful scene from nature, animals or children and then downloading the photo onto the computer. Once the photograph is on the computer, an individual could manipulate it using colors, stretching techniques or various software programs which allow the photo to be manipulated into a different kind of work of art.

The process behind making an art form with the computer is fairly straightforward and simple when following the directions given in the software or other programs. There are many different forms of software that allow someone to manipulate a photography or picture of something or someone. Some people think about the famous Andy Worhal’s famous print of Marilyn Monroe where there are four of the same pictures of her but each in a different color. Of course this was not done on a computer back then, but something similar is being done all the time with a computer.

Just about any photo or picture, even a child’s drawing, could be scanned into a computer and made into a manipulated print that will become a work of art. The computer programs can change the pixels within the photo or picture, which means instead of having a regular group of tiny dots, ones the eye can not see, which forms the photo, they would be a different shape. This would give the photo or picture different dimensions and colors.

Many people like to experiment with the computer and different prints or photographs because they don’t get messy like with acrylic paints, colored pencils or oils. The computer is also more forgiving then a canvas style piece of artwork. If someone makes a mistake or does something on the computer monitor they are not happy with, they can go over it or erase it without a big production.

There are several online tutorials and art schools which teach how to make digital art. Several of them offer grants or financial aide in order to help an individual pay for the cost of the schooling. In addition, some of these classes offer to help a person find a job in the field of computer artwork and other similar fields where a degree in art and electronics or graphics would work well together.
