Lose 10 Pounds Fast Eating Cabbage Soup

Lose 10 pounds in a week and you likely gain it right back. But what if you made eating and exercise changes along with a short diet and used that as a starting point fro a long-term lifestyle change? Would that work? Maybe so…

But how is it possible to drop 10 pounds in a week. Several plans will work if you just want the scales to show 10 pounds less a week from now.

One old plan is called the cabbage soup diet. Refined over the years, the basics of this eating plan remain the same. No way is this a healthy way to eat long-term. But it does work as an easy, cheap way to drop some pounds.

It’s more than just eating soap, luckily. You eat quite a few foods in fact. The soup just serves as filler to fight hunger. The more detailed parts of the diet have you eat just certain food on certain days to make an easy to understand simple plan.

Here’s what you eat each of the 7 days. For the whole week, eat all the soup you want whenever you want it.

Day 1

Eat any fruit you like except no bananas. Drink unsweetened tea, cranberry juice and water. Bananas show up in a later day….

Day 2

Eat fresh, raw or cooked vegetables in whatever amounts you want. No fruits though. Don’t eat dry beans, peas and corn. For dinner you get a baked potato with butter.

Day 3

Today you eat all the soup, fruits and vegetables you like but without the baked potato. See the variety of foods to keep it interesting?

Day 4

Sometimes called the banana diet, this day makes it clear where that name came from. Eat up to EIGHT bananas plus drink all the skim milk you want this day!!! Maybe not a good idea if you have blood sugar problems of course. In that case, you could repeat one of the other days. Remember the soup too, of course.

Day 5

This is beef and tomatoes day. Eat ten to twenty ounces of beef and up to six fresh tomatoes. You may substitute broiled or baked chicken for the beef. Drink at least six to eight glasses of water this day.

Day 6

Eat all the beef and vegetables you want on this day. Continue with the soup, but leave off the baked potato.

Day 7

Today finish up with brown rice plus unsweetened fruit juices and vegetables. Eat all you want plus the soup. Notice how you sort of ease into the diet and then ease out.

That’s the cabbage soup diet plan. I’ve done it. It’s not that hard, especially the bananas and milk day!! After all, it’s only for a few days. You will drop some pounds, which should motivate you to move on to a sustainable plan to get all the fat off and keep it off. No doubt that is the real value of a short term diet, as motivation to continue on with a sustainable weight loss or fat loss program. Without a long-term plan, the short term diet leads to not only failure to lose weight but to actual weight gain over time.
