Outdoor Spring Activities For Toddlers and Parents
Come spring, there are lots of activities that you can enjoy with your toddler. Unlike winter where you get to spend more time indoors with the heater (except when playing and making the snowman on the porch), during spring, it really is a great time to be outdoors. Here are some activities you and your little toddler can enjoy.
Visit a local zoo or aquarium
To enjoy the beauty of nature, you can visit local zoos. Not the wild zoos where lions and other wild animals are set to run, but just the small zoos where you can see different types of fish in different colors. Something toddlers can also appreciate would be birds and pelicans and zebras. You may want to stay away from lions and other bigger animals that may scare your little one and he might just cry.
Plant saplings
Planting trees can be enjoyable for your little one. This would be his chance to play with soil and dirt and not get scolded for it. It will be fun for them as they help out with soil in pots or plant the seeds in the soil. You can ask them to water the plants as well as using a small water can.
You can already imagine them grinning while they feel that they are being helpful and being such a good kid. At the same time, they get to play with mom outside. Perfect during spring, the other colorful plants and flowers in the garden make it a more fun environment for them.
Play with seashells on the beach side
You can both collect seashells and decorate your little sand space with it. Get colorful ones with different shapes (be careful with jellyfish and sharp edges of the shells though) and create houses or people’s faces on the sand with it. You can also build sand castles together.
Play catch or some other simple games
Children love to play games especially when they are young. Playing catch with a soft ball can help them develop coordination and motor skills. Games like tag or hide and go seek can help give the child some exercise as well as allow them to exercise some creativity. Playing outdoor games with your child is a great way to develop the family bond as well.
Remember that you can spend anywhere and anytime to have quality bonding moment with your child. However, you can have even more fun doing activities during spring. Being outdoors gives you more time to enjoy the nice weather. Spring is the time for everything renewed and perhaps this is the perfect time to renew quality moments with your child.
A lot of learning occurs outdoors and this can become crucial to your kid’s development. The outdoor air and environment is also good for a child. Remember that at the time where he is being ready or early at school, your guidance is still important in nurturing all aspect of his personality as most things start with the home and family.
