Reasons For Infertility: Get Your FACTS Here
Medical science’s gynecological division with all the research that has been carried out now known a lot more about the details of how humans have babies, but the truth is that, there are still many questions that remain unanswered, particularly in all those cases where the couple cannot have a baby. Yes, we still have a lot of doubts about the reasons for infertility, and this is what has given birth to the “unknown factors”, which is a term that is often mentioned. Though today we are aware of many reasons, but yet, possibly there are many more that we do not know.
Here we are however trying to find out about the reasons for infertility that we are aware of, and they have been mentioned in many research papers and studies. In the case of males, the biggest reasons concern low sperm count or/and its abnormal shape, limited life span of the sperm and also variocele, which is another condition that can be blamed. Many of these reasons happen when the man in question leads a harmful lifestyle which includes excessive smoking or drinking and addiction – all this can degrade the quality of the sperm. Wearing tight clothing such as jeans can also reduce the sperm’s quality. In recent studies another very alarming thing was observed and this is that, those who have a higher scrotum temperature, are more likely to become infertile. It has also been observed that showering at super heated tubs for long can also lead to infertility.
In women too, there are many reasons for infertility , however, the most common one is a condition that is known as PID or the Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. In this, the egg is unable to move because the fallopian tubes are affected. There are some Sexually Transmitted Diseases like Gonorrhea because of which too some women have been known to become infertile. Another reason is abortions, particularly those that are carried out at non-sterile conditions, and in these cases, the entire reproductive system of a woman may get affected.
PCOS, polycystic ovarian syndrome or simply ovarian cysts is another reason that may cause infertility, though it needs to be mentioned here that this is quite common among women, and normally it does not cause any problems. But in some cases at least, it can cause infertility. When this happens, the hormones that make the follicles cannot be produced in the required numbers, and as a result, the follicle cannot make a matured egg, and naturally thus, the fertility is compromised. Since eggs are not being made, the ovary gets filled with swollen follicles, and it begins to appear like a fully grown grapefruit and this can lead to inconvenience and trouble.
Reasons for infertility among women could also be Premature Ovarian Failure or POF. This is a condition wherein the production of follicle begins to decline even before the woman has attained 40 years of age, and this is kind of a pre-menopause. Naturally in such a state, the woman is unable to conceive and it can be said that she has become infertile.
There has been some known cases of infertility in women from Functional Hypothalamic Amenorrhea, wherein she does not menstruate anymore because of an instability in the in the thyroid gland and hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal system, which incidentally is what regulates the process of reproduction. And it can also happen from Idiopathic Hypogonadotropic hypogonadism wherein functional ovaries cannot get developed. Apart from this, there are some other reasons like Luteal Phase Defect and Benign Uterine Fibroids.
And so we can conclude that there are many reasons for infertility in both females and males. If you are someone who is suffering, what you need to do is first identify which one of these is the real culprit in your case, because unless you know this, how can you get treated? However strangely, conventional remedies do not try to do this – it just suggests IVF and ICSI, which are assisted reproductive techniques. And the problem is, these techniques come with many side effects and their success rate is also only about 33%. What you should do is turn to holistic remedies that takes into account the overall health of the person and then suggests Chinese medications, herbs, diet, acupuncture, exercise and lifestyle changes as well. And this is precisely why the causes of infertility can be best treated with holistic remedies.
