Unique Gift Packaging Ideas

Giving gifts, as they say, is a pleasure for both the giver and the receiver. And at times, the excitement in giving and receiving starts with how the gift is wrapped. Whether gift bags, gift wraps or just ribbons – part of the excitement as the giver is you packaging it, and for the receiver, the excitement is on unpacking it.

Most people just get any old gift wrap and use it to wrap gifts year after year. Tired of the usual gift wraps? Here are some ideas that you can apply the next time you wrap gifts.

Use colors to be unique!
Nobody said that colors should only be limited to red and gold during celebrations. Make your gift wrapping as colorful and as fun as your gift. Pink, blue, yellow or orange, you can use any color and what’s best is that it will stand out versus the reds and the golds on the gift table. For a more fun and fanciful gift wrap have a paper wrap in one color, the ribbons in another color, and the card in another color as well. You can use complimenting shades to make it more elegant, or use entirely different colors for more fun and variety. Shiny foils can also make your gift stand out from the others and is especially good for an expensive gift or something that you know the recipient will absolutely love.

Have a theme to make everything organized!
If your gift is something antique, have your packaging the same theme too. If your gift is a Sponge Bob toy, you can use Sponge Bob paper gift wrapper, and you can use a Sponge Bob ribbon as well to build up the excitement as your little one anticipates the Sponge Bob item inside. If it is an elegant gift, you can use an elegant bag with complimenting ribbons to match.

Personalize and use homemade materials!
You can even save cost with this one. Use the old cloth that you have in storage or use that old mesh bag. Get anything from your old art kit and turn it into a handmade bag or wrapper. If you are giving food as gift, you can use the same plastic container you have in your kitchen, then add a little ribbon, put on a little card, and you can have a personalized food pack already.

Use old newspaper, or if you can make paper mache its all the better, then use an old velvet or satin cloth to wrap it.

What is important is that you practice creativity and no matter what design or wrap you use, sometimes it is the effort that people notice and that makes it all the more special. Remember that part of the gift you are giving is your time and giving them your time and even your creativity is something that your loved ones will truly appreciate. So next time you wrap gifts, be conscious about your gift packaging and make it as special as the gift and your love for the receiver.
