It is very exciting to know that a new baby will soon be arriving to the family. Ever since the baby was conceived, parents were already very excited to plan for a baby shower. All of the family members including relatives and friends want to greet and welcome the new family member. Therefore, plan ahead. Choose a theme that you like most. Remember that a baby shower is the most remarkable event to the family following the birth of the baby so make the best out of it.

Everybody is expecting for a baby shower upon the baby’s arrival. Actually, anyone can do the planning for the baby shower whether he or she is a friend, relative or a family member. The couple can make the decision when to celebrate; it might be after delivery or during the third trimester of pregnancy. It is important to know the gender of the baby first so that you will be able to come up with a theme and guests can have specific gift that is appropriate for the baby. While the planning is going on, make sure that the parents were consulted about the schedule of the event to avoid conflicts about the scheduling of activity. Choose a date wherein everybody is free and could be able to attend. A baby shower can be held at your house or at any place that everyone can be accommodated. Prepare also for an invitation beforehand so that it will be sent to the guest few weeks earlier to the scheduled event.

It is actually not necessary to have a theme for the baby shower but it is good to have one because this will help you to plan and prepare. Having a theme will help you choose for the decorations, games, activities as well as prizes. A theme will serve as your guide along the process. Know your guests first before setting your activities. Examine their personalities and preferred activities so that everybody will be enjoying the party. Participation of guests is a big factor to make the event lively and joyful.

While the party is ongoing, it is best to offer refreshments to the guests such as drinks, cookies, fresh fruits, chocolate chips, vegetables and other finger foods then a formal lunch or dinner afterwards. Avoid serving alcoholic beverages during the program. It is best to serve alcohol free drinks such as ice tea, soda, and lemonade or variety of fruit juices. If you have a friend who is good in hosting, you can request her or him to do the hosting. It will bring more fun if the host knew the guests very well. Do not forget to take several pictures before, during and after the party. Keep it in a safe place; upload them so that everybody will be able to remember the good memories every time they will look at the pictures. The baby might as well take a look at those pictures as he grows older and witness that everybody is joyful upon his arrival to the family.
