How to Save Yourself From Impending Panic Attacks

Panic attacks are random and sudden. Most of these attacks just occur without warning and in the most unpredictable situations. It is really inconvenient for people to have these attacks. More often than not, these take over people’s lives and affect them terribly. Because of these attacks, sufferers are unable to live their lives normally. They always have the fear that another attack is going to happen and it will be incredibly embarrassing for them to go out.

In extreme situations, sufferers go through divorce or get fired from their jobs because of the effects of suffering from this psychological condition. These attacks are not considered a psychological disorder because it does not have a severe indication of being harmful to other people and to oneself. People suffering from these attacks often just have trouble dealing with normal life and going through their daily activities. They do not have the tendency to hurt themselves or other people.

The thing is, panic attacks do not have a clear cause. For most people, these occurrences are really random and do not have a specific trigger. Some are lucky to have an environment-based trigger because they can somehow avoid the event that causes the attack. However, for most sufferers, they never know when they are going to be attacked by an uncontrollable fear.

These attacks are being experienced because of the immense release of adrenaline hormones in the body. Adrenaline gets released in the body when it reacts from sensing harm. This is the body’s way of protecting its own from an impending danger. In this situation, the mind stops working entirely and the person is unable to think. Since the attack will take over the whole body, the person will lose reason and just act based on feeling. The feeling will all be fear so the person is bound to lose control. There will also be shortness of breath or lightheadedness.

There are various symptoms of these attacks but you would have to experience at least four of those at the same time for your condition to be considered a genuine attack. These could be an increase in heart rate or palpitations, trembling, confusion, having tunnel vision and many others. Some sufferers of these attacks also sometimes feel the need to escape a situation.

This is where panic attacks become really unbearable for most. Since the attacks will occur randomly, in a place where everything is normal, you will suddenly feel nauseous and lightheaded. People sometimes run away while in line or just doing a random thing. The worst that could happen is for a panic attack to occur while the person is driving. In this case, the sufferer of panic attack could die. This can be avoided simply by being aware of the condition. Once you feel your blood level starting to rise, you should try to calm yourself down by reminding yourself that nothing is wrong around you. Convince yourself that it is just a panic attack and nothing else.
