Snooping through the phone is not the most effective way to read my daughter’s text messages. It works wonderfully if you can get a hold of the phone, and if the messages are still on it. Otherwise, it doesn’t work well at all.

There is one very good alternative that I found. It’s a program called smart phone spy software. You will need a smart phone for this to work, but it is compatible with most of the popular types. It also works with most of the common phone carriers too. I do realize that there is probably more than one type of this software, so read carefully in case you found one that is different than mine. The software I used was Mobile Spy and it worked just the way it said it would.

With this program in place on my daughter’s phone I can read my daughter’s text messages on my computer. All of the messages are recorded and sent to the account that I sent up. Then, whenever I want, I can go and log in to see everything. With this software I don’t have to worry about them being deleted; they are recorded and sent even if she deletes them off the phone.

This software included much more than just allowing me to read my daughter’s text messages. It also records all the emails in length, so that I can read those as well. All the pictures and videos she took with the phone are there, and it gave me a call log too. I also got a GPS location on the phone throughout the day and night. It also gave me a list of all the websites my daughter visited with her phone. With all of these features I felt pretty good about being able to keep an eye on what my daughter was doing no matter what method she chose. The only thing it didn’t do was record the phone conversations that she was having. It did give me the number and how long the call lasted, but not what they talked about. Of course, I didn’t tell her this when I said I was tracking her phone. I told her all the stuff I could get off the phone, and let her assume that I could get it all.

This may seem wrong to some people out there, but it has been a good deterrent to keeping her from doing the things that she shouldn’t be doing. The GPS location also came in handy when her phone was stolen from school. Because of this feature, we got the phone back the same day. I really doubt that this would have been the case without the GPS feature on her phone. I am sure I would have ended up buying another phone altogether.

I really feel much better about my daughter having the phone now. This software included so much more than just allowing me to read my daughter’s text messages and I was happy to use those features to my advantage.
