“What We Really Want” – by Consumers

One rainy day, while waiting for a taxi cab with a friend for almost an hour, she said, “I wish I had a phonebook directory on-hand so I can call every cab companies to send one and get us home.” On a second thought, she is right; if only there is a way of getting such information that can be useful whenever needed. Another incident happened with another colleague, wherein she missed the seasonal sale in one really good shop because she was not aware that the brand offers such discounts in that weekend. These situations are cases of losses for both my friends and the companies who could have earned more if only they have paid more attention in advertising their respective brands.

It is true that the only advertising that goes along wherever a consumer goes is the mobile phone offers. In our experience, having been offered to call a cab hotline and request for one is far encouraging to respond to than old and dusty phone directories at home. Also, a tarpaulin of that much awaited sale have exposed the event, but only for the frequent passers-by who happen to be the same every day and may not be interested in such offers like my colleague does. The point is, would it be nicer if a shopper can get news and updates of their preferred brands in quick and convenient ways possible?

What consumers need are timely updates and mobile phone offers that they can easily access and respond to whenever required of the situation. An invite to a fashion event by a local couture or a concert sponsored by the newest bar in the city or a photography contest hosted by various gadget shops can both entice a target market to come like magnet in respective businesses as well as opening up possible sales increase due to exposure in such activities. One garage sale of a gadget shop was flooded with buyers when they opened it in a 3-day weekend sale, offering up to 70% discount in most items like digital cameras, flat screen television sets, laptops and other high-tech devices and accessories. And how this event came a success, employees of this company themselves forwarded the invites to their families and networks of friends, so on and the messages did come far and wide.

Open and close. Ironic as it sounds, this describes the business relationship of one entrepreneur to his or her clientele. Open communication calls for quick and relevant response whenever a client inquires and requests. Sometimes, it only needs a few questions answered to score a good deal. But it is not enough that way. One advertiser should have a close observation to what their buyers really want and how their products or services should be developed in order to keep such patrons loyal to their brands. Closeness does not mean taking their privacy and personal information.

If these are much to ask, possible buyers can simply enjoy the convenience of having the right product or service at the right time, with enough information at hand. Mobile phone offers can also consist of the contact information, location and scope of products and services that the brand can offer. So for business owners, consumers only need to know you as much as you would like to know them.
