Get it Right, Make it Tight!

Fat loss for women can often be an illusive, frustrating thing. A lifetime of bad habits, stressful lifestyle, and powerlessness over cravings can make many a woman feel frustrated in her situation. You don’t have time, you can’t make time, you’re not ready. Is it possible to cure?

I’m Callie Durbrown, personal trainer extrodinare and owner of Durbrow Performance Personal Training. Believe me when I say I understand where you’re coming from. I’ve seen and heard it all. And I am here to tell you that it is absolutely possible to change your life, shed the pounds, and be the best you that you can be. What do you have to do? It’s simple. Make up your mind.

Once you decide that this is what you are going to do, you are one step closer to accomplishing your goal. With a little motivation, a little direction, and a lot of conviction, you can do anything you set your mind to. Here are some helpful tips to help you on your way:

Diet, diet, diet – You can work out until you’re blue in the face. But if you don’t change the way that you perceive food, you will gain, not lose weight. Many women fall into this trap. There is also such a thing as eating too little food. Beware – make sure you don’t fall into this trap. Your body will go into starvation mode and cling to every calorie it receives. It’s important to strike a healthy balance of eating enough good healthy foods, as opposed to small amounts of bad ones. Start by snacking on carrot sticks instead of potato chips.

Strength training workouts – many women think that the only way to lose weight is just to hit your body with a barrage of cardio. This is not true. Cardio is of course a huge helpful aid, but only when implemented correctly. Fat loss for women can be won with a combination of strength training and cardio in intervals. If you can’t financially fit in a personal trainer, find a class at your gym that will teach you some of the basics. This will give you a group environment where you can be motivated by others around you.

Work out with a friend – Weight loss is most often won when you do it in tandem with someone else. This can come in many ways – taking a class with a friend, using a meetup group to finds friend to walk with, signing up with personal training group training classes with a friend. The point is – when you feel obligated to someone other than yourself, you’re more inclined to stick it out and stay committed. Funny isn’t it? We’re more likely to flake out on ourselves than on someone else.

Push yourself – No one said that this would be easy. Keep reaching for that next level. This is not to say that you should overdo things and hurt yourself. Just keep a constant level of action for you. Ask for help if you need it. Work hard. You should see results if you just keep it up and stay consistent.
