Boating and recreation go hand and hand and can be a wonderful experience for people of all ages. There are so many relaxing as well as thrilling activities to do on a lake, ocean, or river. Some people like to tie boats together and have parties right there on the water. Others like to be alone and lie in the sun or read a nice book. If the boat is large enough, people can take a barbeque grill and make their favorite grilled item. Some even pull the boat ashore and have lunch there.

There needs to be enough life jackets on the boat for each person who is on the boat. They must also be properly fitting. If there are children on the boat they may need to wear a life vest at all times depending on their ages. The emergency kit is also a great asset to have on a boat because it is very easy to stub a toe or bump something while in the water. This kit will be sure to come in handy in case of an accidental injury.

The flares are needed in case the boats were to get stranded in a location that is not accessible for others to see. The flare could also be let off at night in case a person would be lost, run out of gas, or have some kind of engine failure. It may also be a good idea to take some extra clothing or blankets in case this would happen and the weather were to become cold or windy. Extra food is also an item that could be needed in case the boaters were to become stranded somewhere.

Overall, boating is great fun but there are some rules that need to be followed in order for it to be safe as well.
