Feng Shui Wealth and Prosperity
If you want your bank balance to keep rising, start taking care of the kitchen. The Chinese believe that this area in the house is the source of general well-being of its residents. Food, like water, is representative of wealth. Meals that are prepared in a kitchen that has good Feng Shui will keep the eaters in good spirits throughout the day.
The kitchen should be placed to one side of the house. It should be far from the center of the home where the earth element resides. This part of the house is not a place where work should be done. Neither should the kitchen be too close to the front door because it’s bad luck. A bathroom that is positioned near the kitchen appears to be unhygienic as well.
Balancing yin (water) and yang (fire) is important, as these two elements play important roles in the flow of energy in this section. Surrounding the kitchen door is the area known for its bad qi or the disturbed qi. Remove the stove from that area if it is currently located there. Transfer it a spot that is diagonally across the door where assembled qi resides. The refrigerator and sink must not be located near the stove as well. In Feng Shui, it is not desirable to have contrasting elements like water and fire positioned beside each other. If the kitchen doesn’t leave much space for rearranging appliances, just be sure to place a buffer between those. It could be a wooden or metal partition. Even a chopping board will do. There must not be any water pipes underneath the stove. Good Feng Shui suggests putting the stove towards the east and southeast of the kitchen. This
The atmosphere surrounding the space should be light and airy. A little clutter, like it or not, is actually good. Smoother surfaces and similar materials are preferred for use in the kitchen. For the cupboard, other storage and appliances choose light shades over dark ones. Indoor plants also help keep the section cool. Feel free to add small shrubs outside the window sill or window boxes. This area is ruled by the wood element. Other options could be to put it at the northeast (earth) or the south (fire).
Be sure that your back isn’t turned towards the door while you cook. If someone were to surprise you in the middle to cooking a meal, his or her presence can affect the food that you are preparing. If the door cannot be viewed from where the stove is, install a mirror behind the burner. This will give advance notice so that you can open up the kitchen which helps the flow of qi. In a business sense, this is believed to bring good fortune. Use all the burners alternately because this maintains the regular flow of energy and income. When there is a window or skylight, avoid placing the stove there for it hastens the departure of energy from the house. It’s also bad luck if you can see the stove from the front door.
Yet even though the precepts and practices of Feng Shui and even the art form itself seem all very common sense and even logical you would be surprised at how few take the time and effort to employ and apply them. Simply by taking the time and effort necessary to apply the principles art and what some might even consider, the science of Feng Shui to our lives and our environments, we can thus greatly as well as vastly improve the quality of our lives and the good luck of family, friends and close associates. Your good fortune and luck can start. Feng Shui !
