Jobs That Enable You to Spend Time Outside

Every day people trudge off to their jobs they hate, dreading the hours spend under fluorescent lights within the confines or their tiny carpeted cubicle. This might be the right option for some people, but others would not last a week in an environment like this. They may not be ready or have the financial means to strike out on their own and work for themselves, but they certainly know that a traditional office environment is not for them. The good news is there are plenty of options for employment for those that crave days in the sun and fresh air. You may need job training or some time learning a new skill, but if you are truly passionate about working outdoors, learning new things should be a breeze. Consider working in Texas insulation or Texas sandblasting. In both cases, you will be working on projects that are primarily outside. In the Lone Star State, your biggest challenge will be the hot weather, but if you enjoy being outdoors, this should be no problem for you.

Another similar option is working in construction. You may choose to work for a private company and build things like homes or domestic structures, or you may work for the government and complete road construction or work on public projects. In either case you can earn a decent living and you will be out in the sun all the time. There are some instances where inclement weather like rain and snow may stall your work, so be sure to check with your potential employers about how they handle bad weather conditions. You may also have physical requirements, so make sure you are strong and handy enough to handle a job in construction before pursuing a career.

Working in forestry is a great way to spend time outdoors if you are willing to commit to the necessary education. Some people think that forest and park rangers need no special training, but this is not true. Many of them have studied for years and have spent even more time learning about their specific region. Those who work in forestry understand the environment and everything that lives in the wilderness and most of all; they possess a strong passion for the great outdoors.

A dream job for many that will enable you to work outdoors is becoming a professional athlete. Obviously this is not going to happen for everyone and in most cases; playing sports will be merely recreational. However, for a lucky few, they get to spend their days under the summer sun fielding ground balls or the cold winter months tackling and running in football games. If you realize early in life you have a talent for sports and you believe you may want to play professionally, focus on practicing and improving your skills.

Finally, consider working in landscaping. This is a great job for learning as you go and you can be employed initially with very few skills. Landscaping experts are willing to work with enthusiastic people who are ready to learn more, so if you want to work outside and you love the idea of gardening and home maintenance, a landscaping job may be right for you.
