Significant Shifts in the Modes of Human Survival
Living these days is not entirely new from that time when our ancestors cultivated our Earth. Although there have been significant changes and differences between then and now, most if not all of these shifts are in the form of their gravity and intensity especially in terms of problems. Since time immemorial, the human species has been plagued by disturbances in temperatures. Ever since, the climate has perennially subjected humans to extreme cold or excruciating hot temperature. Before, the earth is still able to mitigate the harmful effects of these natural occurrences. However, today, due to the degradation of our environment especially the depletion of our ozone layer and global warming, the earth has no more enough resources to cushion the dangerous effects from these environmental problems. Without these essential features of the earth, humans and other creatures can hardly live a normal life and they shall be marching fast to their total extinction.
In search for effective and environmentally friendly solutions, humans have ingeniously discovered and invented tools and equipments that make up for these losses. Among these inventions are the heating and air conditioning systems. Humans, by way of old-style fire pits, have anciently used the heating systems. These fire pits are created by digging a hole on the ground to provide a safe compartment for the dry pieces of woods that shall be put on fire. The fire created by this pit shall serve not only as lighting but most primarily to intensify the heat and warmth that the human body needs for survival especially during extreme cold temperatures on winter season.
Presently, this type of heating is now transformed into a more modern technological device such as propane fire pits. These propane fire pits still serve as a heating system though not anymore using dry woods that emit dark and suffocating smoke. These modern fire pits now use propane gas sealed in a tank that should be placed distantly from the fire pit itself to avoid any accidents. The device also has easy to use control system to provide only the right amount of heat and warmth for the people.
For most tropical countries, extreme heat from the sun is perennially plaguing them. Although this excruciating heat has not been experienced in recorded history during the ancient times, today, this phenomenon is but a daily serving to human living. Thus, since humans cannot anymore effectively adopt and survive normally with this intensified heat, air conditioning system has been invented to balance the temperature and provide for colder air. These heating and air conditioning systems are addressing human problems not entirely new to our species. Their necessity has been propelled by the increase of gravity and intensity of these age-old problems.
These inventions on heating and air conditioning should not be treated as natural and acceptable normal replacements. There is still no equally effective measure against natural and environmental harms than those already built-in with nature as among its features that mitigate and cushion every problem and harmful effects caused by the environment itself. In line with gratefully enjoying human ingenuity that support our normal survival such as heating and air conditioning systems is the necessity to educate everyone on taking care and protecting the environment not only to avoid the depletion of natural resources that mitigate these problems but also to avoid the aggravation of these problems in the future.
