The 2012 Ford Focus is an Eco-Conscious Contemporary Car
It might sound a bit odd to incorporate recycled materials into a new automobile but Ford has done it and the result is the 2012 Ford Focus. Some of the recycled materials was be used for padding purposes in order to help shield the driver and passengers from exterior noise. Enough fabric material to make up two pairs of denim jeans will be used in each Focus automobile. Consumers will be able to select from seven different trim levels; from the base S sedan priced at $18,790 up to the upscale Titanium 5-door sedan at $22,765. Direct competitors of the Focus include the Toyota Corolla and the Mazda 3.
One of the major changes is a stiffer suspension for better handling and a brand new chassis. You can even opt for a sport-tuned suspension at an extra price. When it comes to appearances, the Focus sports a kinetic design due to its athletic shape. The result is a car that is super sleek and modern. The front lights make a daring statement with a distinct Dragon Eye design. For 2012, Focus gets a new set of wheels, 11 of them as a matter of fact which makes it easy to pick and choose the ones you like the best. The Focus is equipped with a 2.0 Liter engine with direct injection for a more strategic charge at 155 hp and 145 lb feet of torque. Ford plans on building an additional version with an Ecoboost engine for additional fuel efficiency.
Electronic Power Assist has also been added for the first time. This feature automatically adjusts to road conditions for improved control. Other amenities to make your ride as pleasing as possible include a stereo system with a cd plauyer, a tilt and telescopic steering wheel, power windows, an air conditioning system and fifteen inch steel wheels. You can also opt for a rear view camera and an advanced navigation system with turn by turn directions at an additional cost. The interior looks super modern and contemporary, with a LCD screen and blue lighting throughout the instrument clusters for a modern appearance.
Ford engineers designed this vehicle with safety at the forefront. Standard features include Electronic Stability Control and Anti-Lock Brakes which adjusts pressure to the brakes during critical moments. Boron steel makes up the body of the car. Boron steel is generally a lot more durable and stronger than regular steel.
Despite its affordable pricing, the Focus offers a ton of features, a well-designed interior and a contemporary kinetic design. If you are eco-conscious, you will also appreciate the great lengths Ford went in order to incorporate recycled fabric into this vehicle. The 2012 Focus clearly demonstrates that it is competitive enough to go head to head with the dominant Japanese carmakers in the competitive affordable compact car niche. MSRP for the 2012 Focus will be $18,790 and hit showrooms in the spring of 2011. Ford made a big splash with the initial unveiling of the Focus, but the new model is even better than ever.
