Knowing When to Let Go of a Cat

Cats are really wonderful pets to take care considering their sweet voices, affectionate touches of furs, and easy ways of nurturing them. Owners of these domesticated animals must be willing to spend extra money and time for their pets to make them grow in love and care of their human parents. These efforts exerted by humans make their pet cats more important and attached to them. As such, death and lost of these valuable domestics cause extreme grief and agony on the part of the orphaned owners. However, death and lost of the feline pet are not the only reasons for parting ways of the responsible owner and the valuable housemate. Certain considerations and circumstances necessitate the breaking up and split of the bond and togetherness of these extraordinary human-animal relationship.

Among the factors of knowing when to let go of a cat in favor of adoption houses or homing institutions are the instances when there are too many felines living in the house, when one or some of the family members generated allergies or other health concerns related to cats, the financial condition and other personal problems of the owner and many more. If the owner has too many cats, then it is proper that he or she should let go of some of them since there will be chance that he can single-handedly take good and quality care for each of them. Pushing for this situation will only lead to one or some cats being neglected in terms of attention and health. This is extremely harsh on their part. Thus, they should rather be surrendered to institutions that can really afford them proper and quality health and personal attention. If the owners or any of the family members who has allergies or phobias in cats will also call for the letting go of such pet. It would be inhumane if the person be the one that the owner asks to leave instead of the cat, isn\’t it? Another factor that leads to the breaking up of the owner and the cat is the financial condition of the former. Financial problems do not only affect families and human relationships, it also gravely affects the quality of treatment and care that cats receive from their owners. If the owner cannot anymore afford the necessary expenses for the health maintenance of the pet, then it is best for the cat to be delivered to someone who can really give it the best cat care.

These circumstances mentioned proves that the owner cannot anymore adequately and properly provide for the needs of the pet cat such as enough attention, healthy foods, and proper maintenance and grooming. As such, it is but necessary to let the cat live a happy and long life to let it go and give it to institutions or friends whom you trust to have equally high love and care for the same animals. You can still visit them if you like. But forcing them to live with you does not serve their welfare and instead it only places the felines in harms way.
