Tips on the Road to Discover the Best Tinted Moisturizer
Trying to find the best tinted moisturizer? There’s a problem with the products. They are supposed to do two things.
Moisturizers are stand-alone skincare products. When you try to use one to take the place of foundation, you generally do not get the moisturizing effect that you need without over-doing it in the color department.
Some of the safest colored moisturizers are made by Green Beauty Cosmetics. The company says you can use it by itself or apply on top of a moisturizer. That direction should help you understand that the product is primarily meant as makeup.
Excessive dryness is one of the many causes of wrinkles. Older women are more likely to have moisture loss due to lower levels of hyaluronic acid, decreased production of new skin cells and hormonal changes.
Excessive dryness is a problem for many people during the winter because of low humidity. During the summer months, you might be able to get by with using only the best tinted moisturizer, but during the winter you really need more help.
If you are like a lot of people, you have a combination skin type. Combination complexions are oilier on the forehead and nose, dry on the cheeks, chin and around the eyes. More sebaceous glands on the forehead and nose are the cause.
The skin’s sebaceous glands produce sebum, a waxy oil that helps to hold moisture in the skin. Showering washes sebum away. Failure to use moisturizers after showering leads to excessive moisture loss.
Most women apply their makeup after drying off and getting dressed. The best time to apply moisturizers is right after a shower to help hold in some of the moisture gained from the steam and the water.
The best tinted moisturizer in term of safety could cause problems for combination skin types. Some of the ingredients are too oily. Squalene for example is whale oil. It can cause a greasy feeling for people with combination or oily complexions.
The better facial moisturizers overall contain ingredients that help to balance sebum production. They can be used on dry, oily and combination complexions without fear. Passion fruit extract is one of the ingredients known for balancing sebum production.
Some of us are against the use of squalene, because it means that whaling is alive and well in some parts of the world. I would be happier if the best tinted moisturizer in terms of safety did not contain squalene. But according to the Environmental Working Group’s cosmetic safety database, there is no safer product than Green Beauty’s and their products contain squalene.
My advice is to choose un-tinted moisturizers that include anti-aging ingredients. They will make your face look smoother, firmer and more evenly colored even before you apply your makeup. A good makeup is one that contains zinc oxide, because of the sunscreen protection the ingredient provides.
Maybe it’s time to stop searching for the best tinted moisturizer and start look for the one that contains the most effective anti-aging ingredients. That’s my advice, but the choice is yours.
