There are plenty of people in the world who just want to be left alone to do their work and spend time with their families. They may work hard and strive for success, but overall they are content with the status quo. There are others who know their appearance can aid them in finding success, and while they may also be hard workers, they feel they have an edge because they look great. Much of their ability to succeed based on the career they choose and where they live. Some fields could care less what employees look like and will judge people based strictly on skill, experience and talent. This is also true for some regions. Smaller towns have a tendency to focus on hard work and dedication and not pay much attention to a person’s appearance. However, in some larger cities, your appearance may play a role in how quickly you advance up the corporate ladder. It may see unfair, but it happens and if you are on the attractive end of things, you may even use it to your advantage. For instance, a dentist or cosmetic dentist may place value on how hygienists look because they want patients to see the beauty of a gorgeous smile.

Another place where looks are very important is Los Angeles. Many of the people who move to LA go there to work in television or movies, obviously a field where your looks are going to matter. Since there are so many attractive people hoping to be discovered by a talent agent, even the most mundane jobs are filled by great looking people. Even if you move to Los Angeles in hopes of working in the medical field, an administrative job or as a part of a creative field behind the scenes, good looks may help you get noticed.

The same is true in New York. While fewer people are planning to have their faces on the big screen in the Big Apple, it is still a place where people hope to get discovered. You may have a desire to work on Broadway or somewhere in the media and New York is considered the big time. If you are able to find success in New York, most people will consider you a success everywhere.

Though it used to be run by some of the sleaziest people in the country, Las Vegas has come into its own as an attractive city. Even if you are just visiting, you will have a better time if you fix yourself up and go out looking attractive every night. Some clubs and restaurants will not even let you in the door unless you look a certain way. If you are planning a move to Las Vegas, be prepared to be judged by how you look.

Finally, some find their looks to be important in Chicago. This is on a smaller scale than the other cities mentioned, but because Chicago is a big city, there are still plenty of attractive folks walking around. Know that if you move to the Windy City, your personal style and appearance will make a difference.
