Clean House: How to Go About General Cleaning Your Home

It is said that cleanliness is next to Godliness. Well, that is very plausible. Maintaining a tidy home has so many benefits. One thing is the health benefit and the other one is that a clean house not only looks good but smells good too. There are so many risks in keeping a dirty home. Dirt is the genesis of diseases like asthma and pneumonia. Also, a filthy home attracts rodents and pests alike. Don’t let them crown into your home. Do a top to bottom general cleaning and shoo them away for good.

YOU’LL NEED:

– Vacuum cleaner
– Dusters
– Micro fiber cloths
– Broom and dust pan
– A micro fiber mop
– Anti microbial detergent
– 3 big boxes

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Sort out through your things and decide which ones to keep and which ones to throw out or give away. This is what the three boxes are for. Label them “KEEPS”, “GIVE AWAY” & “TO GO”. The things that are in the “keeps” box may need to be cleaned so once you finished sorting them out throw them in the washing machine for a cycle. Those that are on the “give away” box will be donated to charity. If you want, you can replace the label and put “TO SELL” instead. This is great if you are planning to acquire some extra cash and do a garage sale. Well whatever you decide, this is the section for the things that you think that you no longer need. Finally, the “to go” box is for things that are broken. If you find things that you don’t need anymore but are still in good condition, clean them and give them away. Other people may still use them.

2. The next step is to dust around. Remember, there is a golden rule in cleaning, start from the top then work your way down to the bottom. What this means is that you’ll have to dust and clean the surfaces first so that when you go to the floor, you’ll get everything that fell out from the higher surfaces. It’s a very bad idea to reverse this. Dust the surfaces first. This will get that dirt out of them. Next, wash your micro fiber with an anti microbial detergent and wipe the dirt off. Be sure to get to the little nooks and crannies. Have your family help you into moving big pieces of furniture. Remember, this is seasonal and general cleaning. You have to make sure that your house is spotless.

3. Now let’s go to your floor. The first thing to do is to sweep. Sweep the dust and dirt that fell from the surfaces that you cleaned. Don’t worry if you don’t get everything. That’s what the vacuum is for. Next vacuum the floor. The final step is to mop the floor. It’s best to have a fan turned on after you have mopped the floor. Also, hinder your children from walking around so they won’t trip.

Cleaning the house is mistaken to be hard and boring but it’s not. You can find things that you thought you’d lost. Plus, after seeing the outcome of what you’ve done, you’ll be jumping with joy in your tidy house.
