Hair Fashion: Are we Favoring Royal Hues?
The excitement of the Royal Wedding has put the spotlight on a new group of fashion and beauty idols whose hair colour and style we absolutely adore! Whether it’s Kate Middleton\’s soft chestnut brown waves or Chelsea Davy\’s bright blonde, your closest RUSH Hair Salon will provide you with the Royal Style that you choose in time for the Royal Wedding. We cannot ignore our favourite celeb royalty either! We love Cheryl\’s new dark mahogany hair colour as well as Florence Welch\’s luminescent golden copper.
It can be quite difficult to identify which colour goes well with which skin tone and therefore it is essential to go to a trained hairdresser for consultation. RUSH International Colour Director and British Hairdressing Awards Colour Technician of the Year 2009, Chris Williams, comments on the colour of our Princesses and Celeb Royalty picks and suggests how you can get the look at your local RUSH Hair salon.
Kate Middleton
Kate has a lovely warm skin tone and dark eyes which are perfect for this Iced Chestnut colour. Ask your hair salon to use a permanent colour or a Glossing treatment to give a really healthy, shiny finish.
Chelsea Davy
Chelsea has very light natural hair. A few sun-kissed highlights have been added to give a natural, beach look. Ask your RUSH Hairdresser for a Full Head of Highlights. They may add a toner to achieve a cool, ashy shade on darker bases.
Zara Phillips
Zara’s hair is another example of the popular golden blonde. This is slightly over highlighted which can give a brassy look. She could add a combination of highlights and a Permanent Colour to give a more defined, softer blonde. If you do go for a golden blonde, keep to a more natural tan.
Princess Beatrice
This warm chestnut is great for Beatrice’s slightly paler complexion. This colour is a good way of going darker if you have pale skin as the golden shade will make your skin look more tanned. A permanent colour will be used to achieve this look. A Glossing can also be used if there is a lighter base to work with.
Cheryl Cole
Cheryl’s new cool mahogany colour suits her skin tone, dark eyes and tan. This colour encourages the shine and gloss that you can see in this picture. This colour suits people with an olive skin tone and is great for thick hair because the darker colour slims the hair down. INOA is a great product for achieving this look because it gives a really shiny finish and softens thick hair.
Florence Welch
This golden copper suits more skin tones, including Florence’s paler complexion. The colour reflects on the skin and warms the face. This colour is going to be the big colour of the summer. This will be a great, fresh new approach for all those who have gone for red in the past.
Ask your hairdresser for a permanent colour to achieve this look along with an Enrich service which will further enhance the colour and shine as well as helping the colour last for longer. Enrich is brilliant for the summer because it is luminescent in the bright sunlight.
Helen Mirren
Helen has embraced her maturity and only partly covered her natural hair with a half head of natural champagne blonde highlights. This gives a distinguished, classic and glamorous look for the more mature woman.
Kate Moss
The queen of fashion Kate Moss has recently gone for a more golden blonde. This is in line with the trend of introducing more golden tones (like we see with Florence’s golden copper).
This is a fantastic way to add volume to finer hair as the highlights give add more dimension. Ask your hair salon for a Full Head of Highlights.
