Did you know that not only has President Barack Obama released his official birth certificate to the public but that he is the only sitting President in history to have made his birth certificate public?

I\’m amazed by how many people do not know this fact.

Due to crazy claims that were being made about Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign, he released his official birth certificate to the public at that time. I do not know of any other presidential candidate who has done the same thing. The document has been confirmed by Hawaii officials as being the real deal.

So how is it that in 2011 someone like Donald Trump can get away with trying to \”trump\” up this so called \”issue\” once again? I\’m not really sure. Trump should be called out as an absolute lunatic by every news organization but instead this kind of thing gets treated as just a \”different opinion.\”

This has to be seen as a failure of the news media. Whenever this issue is brought up the news media should present the person who makes these false claims as a buffoon (because that\’s what they are) and the facts should be stated: President Obama has made his birth certificate public. He was born in Hawaii on August 4th of 1961.

And not only has he made his official birth certificate with this information public but there were also two announcements of Barack Obama\’s birth in local newspapers in August of 1961. Are we supposed to believe these announcements were faked? For what reason? It\’s crazy.

Oh yeah; Did I mention that the current Governor of Hawaii was friends with Obama\’s parents back in the 1960s and remembers when Obama was born in Honolulu? The Governor. Not some guy working at a gas station; the Governor of the state!

We need to stop giving credence to irrational stupid ideas that are based on no evidence. It creates a climate of hysteria where serious solutions to the real problems facing our country can\’t be discussed because a bunch of lunatics are taking up all of the oxygen discussing things that have no merit.

Our country is facing a huge deficit and continuing economic turmoil. Our country has a failing health care system. Our country has one of the worst education systems in the western world (the fact that there is such a large percentage of our country\’s population that gives credence to stuff like this is a good example of that.) We have big problems. Why can\’t people spend their time thinking about how we can bring about real solutions to these problems instead of ranting about the President\’s birth certificate?

Donald Trump is either an ignorant buffoon or (much more likely) a snake who is willing to propagate a myth about our President in order to gain more attention for himself. He has to know that some very sick people out there may actually buy into what he\’s saying and may do something horrible because of it. But he\’s willing to spread this misinformation anyway. He makes me sick.
