You will be able to travel more frequently and you will be motivated to do so. When people are busy, they have a tendency to put off vacations. If this happens to often, stress builds up and it can lead to health problems. If you are paying for your accommodations whether you use them or not, it will give you the motivation you need to get away for a few days so you are not investing money that goes to waste.

Finally, since you will be traveling more frequently, you have opportunities to vacation with different people. You can take friends along on one trip, leave the kids behind and plan a romantic getaway for another and have a regular family trip once in awhile. When everyone knows they get to go the next time or the time after that, there is no reason for every trip to be a once in a lifetime opportunity. This gives you more flexibility with travel.
