Assassin\’s Creed is Really Great Game
When it comes to gaming, Ubisoft is one of the premier developers that has managed to create award winning franchises around the world. Their first venture into epic gaming took stage with Assassins Creed where the game for the first time allowed players to roam in a free world of medieval times and take up missions that they see fit. Assassins Creed was one of the first games that was introduced over all gaming platforms where imaging and graphical interfaces were taken to new dimensions of game play.
The game features lead character Altair who is an Assassin from birth but decides to follow his own path to righteousness. To prove his worth, he has to show his mettle as he takes on enemies in his home town and around. His core mission is to retrieve the Holy Grail which is followed as the Apple of Eden. When gamers wonder why the game is structured during the medieval ages, game play outplays itself as Desmond Miles who is a salvage victim that is placed in the Animus – a device that allows Desmond to follow the footsteps of his ancestor – Altair. While the concept of the Animus is a little hard to explain in an article, it is best experienced within the game itself. Ubisoft have given Assassins Creed complete action to detail where they have combined an open world scenario with gameplay featuring action, adventure and drama. As Altair regains his lost honor with the group of assassins, he is encouraged to take on missions that will eventually take him one step closer to the Holy Grail.
Assassins Creed is an action packed, fast running game that showcases an unholy war between the templars and assassins. Gamers are sure to be thrilled with the fights they have to engage in throughout their journey and will find that riding a horse from one town to another is an adventure in itself. The cut scenes of the game are detailed to its core and have some of the best motion capturing devices used by Montreal Ubisoft Studios. The game as itself is large and has a map that can put GTA franchises to shame. While it may not be a modern city, Assassins Creed offers the best of medieval cities from the times of Jerusalem and more. One of the chief features that gamers love is the fact that they can do whatever they want in the game. This happens to be a common trend with open world games. However, with Assassins Creed, this can be taken to an all new level where gamers can partake in side missions to increase their XP and move up the ranks of becoming an Assassin. What’s more is that with special gameplay features such as running of rooftops and hiding from enemies in haystacks, this has become one of those games that offers espionage in an older environment. As Desmond Miles aka Altair, gamers have to uncover secrets of their past and move ahead with missions that will reveal more about Desmond’s family history as the game progresses.
While Assassins Creed is a game that can definitely capture audiences of all ages, there have been a few issues with religious groups that the game personifies. Additionally, the fight scenes have not be mastered to absolute graphical detail which seems to be a feature that Ubisoft decided to implement so as to showcase the real features of the Animus. Due to in-depth missions and plethora of side missions, Assassins Creed promises gamers atleast twenty hours of unique playing time. The downside to having such a great game is that it does not have a multiplayer feature. However, gamers that love single player campaigns and would like to fill in the shoes of someone that can change the course of history, Assassins Creed is a game worth playing. The game is available on xBox 360, PlayStation 3 as well as PC. Later refinements of the game were released for iPhone and iPod Touch as well as other handheld devices. There is also a PlayStation Portable edition of the game titled Assassins Creed Chronicles. However, those gamers that want to play the game at its complete advantage are advised to pick up the platform version. Assassins Creed is one of those games that has been able to offer gamers a diverse range of game play features crossing all genres of action, adventure as well as strategy. Ubisoft Montreal have indeed managed to create a game that will surely go down in history, if not once again, as the game of the year. Adapted from the graphic novel, “Assassins Creed”, the game promises hours of gaming pleasure and addictive kills that will leave every gamer wanting more. In the end, Desmond Miles, Altair and the gamer become one together.
