Before You Kick the Bucket

Anyone who has ever dreamed big dreams such as diving in the Great Barrier Reef, exploring the Pyrenees, seeing the Northern Lights or dodging pink dolphins in the Amazon, absolutely must sit down and put them in writing. If you have not already made one, bucket lists are the perfect tool to begin doing all that you dream of doing. Putting dreams into writing can have lasting effects for example, athletic fans dreaming of a sports vacation may finally head off to that football game they have been fantasizing about, wannabe patrons of the arts may finally see the New York City ballet company perform.

You never know what lies ahead in this life but you can plan to live your best life possible, and succeed in doing all that you ever dreamed. A bucket list is not just for those on the brink of death (like Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman’s characters in the movie The Bucket List). Rather, it is a decidedly good idea to get started on such a list as early as possible this way; you will have more time to do everything on it. If you are finally ready to brave all the waters you have never actually tested but always wanted to try, read on to discover a few methods to help you in your goals.

Ask yourself a number of questions. First, what are the minor things possibly ones that have always been within your reach that you have always wanted to try but have yet to do so? Consider the things you have always wanted to learn, such as new languages or dances. Perhaps, you have always wanted to master the art of Argentine cuisine. What faraway places have you always dreamed of visiting? Which nearby places would you like to see? Are there any new hobbies you have always meant to take up, such as miniature ship building or ice hockey? What professional sporting events have you always wanted to witness in person? Are there any extreme sports such as snowboarding or air gliding that you would love to take on, at least once?

Are there any celebrities that you would like to meet or hear speak? Have you always wanted to perform charity work, but never gotten around to it? If you never had to work another day in your life and had all the money you ever desired at your disposal, how would you spend your time? Can you begin doing any of those things now, today?

A good way to start your own list is by reading those of other people many post their lists online. Reading other people’s dreams may just give you insight into your own. When making your own list, do not be afraid to write down all that you dare to dream. The point of making such a list in the first place is to break free of any limits that may be holding you back. The list can be as long or short as you are willing to make it; there should be no limits on your life’s dreams. Make sure you are spending your life the way you truly want to spend it.
