Buick: An American Company

Buick NJ has a rich history, almost as rich as the General Motor Corporation itself. The Buick Motor Division of the company has been manufacturing, distributing and marketing cars since the Model B came along in 1904. Of course, it was a few years later that the company made its way to New Jersey, but Buick in NJ like GMC NJ has become a major staple of local automobile dealerships.

It was David Dunbar who invented Buick’s first car, the Model B. It was not until later that the Model B became known as its modern equivalent, the Buick brand, and for many years the model was simply a car produced under the General Motors Company. Buick has held fast to its reputation as a solid American car brand and it survives even today, when there are a plethora of foreign cars on the local market. The company’s loyal following understands that Buick strives to create modern vehicles whose innovations continue to serve and protect passenger interests and safety. The company has come quite a long way since the days of the Model B; Buick prides itself on a wide range of modern creations, from crossovers to sedans.

After establishing headquarters in Flint, Michigan, the company began to manufacture its first automobile models. Later, the business moved its main office to the auto-friendly city of Detroit. In modern times, the brand is bought by drivers on a global scale foreign countries such as Israel, China and Canada are home to Buick drivers.

While the company has come quite a long way, technologically speaking, since the Model B, these old fashioned cars can still be found today albeit usually only in museums. Those who love vintage automobiles are likely to have been to a few such museums, but it is too bad that the average person will probably never lay eyes on the original cars.

In 1907, Buick began making cars that had slightly bigger engines, and later it produced the Model D, a car that utilized the four-cylinder engine, a revolutionary development at the time. The brand also served as the first manufacturer to install four-wheel brakes. This new four-wheel brake technology inspired an influx of consumer interest, which helped the company expand immensely.

The company remained successful all the way up until the beginning of the war years, but was made to produce a number of designs for the military during that period. Car production began again in earnest during 1942. Buick, like other manufacturers during that period, was forced to make changes to survive post-war financial issues (such as the rising cost of fuel) and began to focus on creating automobiles which were more fuel efficient.

Surviving those difficult times helped to make Buick the rock-solid company it is today. Although the recession destroyed a number of smaller companies, Buick only built its reputation and continued to grow. During the sixties, the car company flourished and today the company has become one of the most-loved names in the car industry.
