Ebay Selling Advice – How to Earn $100+ A Day on Ebay

If you are looking for eBay selling advice, I hope these tips will help you. I have been selling on eBay for over 5 years and learned the hard way that it’s not as simple as simply putting your things into auction and hoping someone will buy them!

First of all you need to decide what to sell. There are 2 important things to consider: 1.What would you feel enthusiastic about selling? 2. Is that item going to sell well on eBay? Let’s look at these points in more detail:

If you aren’t interested in the items you are selling, your lack of interest and passion will come across to buyers. Conversely if you know and love your subject that will come across too – and do great things for your eBay sales. Plus, you’ll enjoy your work!

One very important bit of eBay selling advice is that once you have decided on the overall subject of what you want to sell on eBay, you need to narrow that subject right down so that it is a tight niche category.
Here’s what I mean:

If you go onto eBay, you’ll see on the home page a whole list of categories. Let’s click on one of them. Let’s click on Clothing for example. We are then taken through to another page of categories within the category of clothing. In other words sub-categories. If we choose one of these, let’s say Womens Accessories, we are taken through to another list of sub-categories. Let’s click on one of those: eg Wallets. This will take us through to a page of items for sale within the wallets category.
On the left-hand side of the page, you can see that wallets are sub-divided into different types of wallet. Clutch wallets are one of these sub-divisions. Earlier in my eBay selling advice, I mentioned that you need to find a tight niche category.

So, Clutch Wallets are an example of a TIGHT NICHE and would be an excellent choice to sell in because you would be specializing in a small area, rather than trying to compete in a wide subject area. This is vital for eBay success.

Once you have decided on what you are going to sell, you need to find those items or make them. You might want to buy them from a trusted wholesaler, or from car boot sales, or you might use a dropshipper.
You also need to learn how to write effective auction listings, with the right keywords in your title and description so that as many people as possible find your items. This is so important – many people think they just need to make their item sound good, by using words like ‘super’ or ‘gorgeous’. This won’t help people find your item among all the competition. I explain more about this on my website.

You then want to ensure you get lots of bids so you end up with the highest possible final selling price. Getting lots of people seeing your item is a first step, but you can then increase the chances of lots of bids by making sure your auction ends when lots of people will be online ie not at five in the morning! You can also make sure your listing looks as professional as possible, and offer the buyer the ability to pay by as many methods as possible – make it clear you wait for cheques to clear before you post items out to them.
