You can adapt your lure and bait techniques to reflect that difference in response speed.

Fish are also affected by external weather conditions. If it is windy you should cast into the wind because it is pushing the water and surface food to the far shore, and taking the fish with it. If a storm is about to hit, the fish will be more active before and less so after, due to their reaction to the atmospheric conditions. A light rain is good for fishing and a hard rain is bad. If the rain is accompanied by lightning, the situation is dangerous and you should immediately get out of the water.

You cannot control the outcome of your fishing trip, but you can stack the cards in your favor by looking out for the different fishing factors and outdoor conditions that can affect it. The more you know the better your instinct will become; you will be one step closer to turning your hobby into art.
