The next thing you need to do is to graduate from that school in order to be able to get a licensure exam. Make sure that you made the most out of your two to four years stay at school.

Some states requires at least 1,000 hours of actual training in massage therapy in order to qualify for the exams. This is in order for the board of massage and bodywork therapy can determine your actual capability of performing what you’ve learned in your school. Take and pass the school exam so that you can take on the exam on becoming a certified massage therapist.

Now in case you have passed the examination, the next thing that you need to do is to submit your application and a notarized copy of your certificate of diploma from the school you attended and pay the fee required. The last step is to take the NCBTMB examination to become a certified massage therapist. The results will be mailed to you within two business day by the NCBTMB themselves.
