Many people have the time to plan getaway for summer. Not just for a weekend or a even a week, but for the entire summer. This opens up several great options for them. Some of these folks are planning for a couple, maybe even singles or several men or women. It matters not the configuration of people, there are still super places to visit all summer long.

Taking couples as an example, when both are able to get away together for this long of time, the countries of the world are open to them, if they have the financial resources to support them. There may even be a few who work their way across a country of their choice, doing odd jobs or actually having a plan. This may include teaching their own language to people of another country who are needing conversations to perfect their skills.

Single people are also having fun traveling by themselves, across their own country or in another farther away. Cycling or hiking through Europe has been very popular. There are many hostels and so forth that couples, families and even singles can use. People meet people, in this way too. Occasionally, some will travel together for a period of time, for as long as they may be going in the same direction.

Necessarily, you will have to choose a small portion of the country, Europe, for instance, to see on this trip, since it is such a large area. Think about making a five year plan, covering most of the special places, museums and historical spots you wish to see eventually. Italy has the Dolomite Mountains that beg to be traversed. Norway has the fjords and glaciers beckoning and the Blarney Stone in Ireland is wishing for a kiss as you pass by.

Choosing another country such as Australia could be super. If this is the case, you really must narrow your view to a very small portion of the country. It has a varied landscape as well as weather, so check carefully when making plans to tour here. Kangaroos and wallabies abound, along with a terrific selection of other wild life.

In the United States, choices need to be made as well because, like other countries, it is large and has a varied landscape as well. Driving or taking specific tour companies that take care of all your needs may be the way to go first. In the north west, a place called Jackson Hole, Wyoming is an example, where you can go white water rafting or simply cruise gently for the scenic tour.

While you are in the west, check out the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Summer time will afford you many opportunities to hike around in these primitive areas, if that is your wish.

As different as black and white, the south and south east of the United States features much warmer weather, actually, that can be very uncomfortable. Deserts of Arizona and New Mexico for instance, are hot in the day and cool at night. The beaches of Texas, Florida or even the east coast of Georgia can give ample diversion.
