How to Purchase a Digital Projector

When Purchasing a digital projector, there are a few things that you need to know about them, in order to keep them working properly and efficently. Some example of things that you will need to know is how to maintain them once you have it, as well as how to make repairs on them in case something on them breaks or malfunctions.

First of all, you must know how to maintain your Digital Projector. Your projector is full of circuit boards and the lamp on the projector creates heat. Your projectors need to be able to pull in air from the outside in through the filter in order to cool it down. The purpose of the filter is to protect the electronics from dust and dirt. If you do not keep up on the filter and it becomes clogged, your projector will not be able to cool down properly and can cause it to malfunction and can cause serious damage to it. To prevent this from happening, you need to take out and clean your filter at least one time every three months. Also you need to clean the panels as well as the lens and lubricate the fan. Also, be sure to keep an eye on your your lamps. Typical Lamps have a life of 1000 hours. You will start to notice the lamps beginning to dim and there is also a meter on it that tells you how many hours used or how much is remaining. When it gets close to 1000 hours, have a replacement ready.

To prolong the life of your Lamp, there are a few things you can do. For example, do not move the projector while the fan is on, you need to wait until it shuts down completely. Also, mak sure there is nothing blocking the air flow to the fan. You can also have an electrician check out the voltage of your lines to ensure that you do not have higher then normal AC Voltage.

Secondly, you must know how to repair some things on your digital projector. There are a number of possible things that might go wrong on your projector, that can be simply taken care of at home, without the need to have a repair man come out to fix it. For example, if your projector begins to blink orange, red or green. What this means is that your projector is informing that something is wrong, depending on what color or the blink rate. Such as needing a new lamp to having its security engaged and needs to be overridden. Another example is say your projector is turning off by itself. Some models have an off feature built in, so when there are several minutes of inactivity it will automatically turn itself off. Many people do not know this. To turn this feature off, simply go to the power menu and uncheck the power off selection. Many repairs you cannot do yourself. Sometimes, you will need to call a repair person to come and fix it for you.
