There’s nothing quite like the old fashioned road trip! – Maine- Take some time to stop in the areas around the Kennebec River near the Canadian border. It is here that Benedict Arnold planned to support an attack on Canada during the Revolutionary War.

– Massachusetts- On Exit 48 you will find the town of Danvers, which was once the Village of Salem. Here you can visit the home of Rebecca Nurse, a 71 year old lady who was accused and hanged for witchcraft in 1692. The home can be toured from June 15th through October 31st.

– Pennsylvania- Philadelphia is a must see place! Whether you are interested in America’s history, want to take in a sports event or just want to taste a Philly cheese steak you can’t go wrong with time spent here!

– Virginia- Civil War buffs will find many places to brush up on their subject here. Be sure to stop at these places in Spotsylvania County- Chancellorsville, Spotsylvania, Wilderness and Fredericksburg. There are approximately 100,000 men killed or wounded at these Virginia battlefields.

– Georgia- I-95 runs along the coastline of Georgia and offers an abundance of side trips and adventures. In fact, there is so much to explore along this region of I-95 that you may just want to make it purpose of the trip. Some of the locations you will want to check out are Brunswick with its Old World atmosphere and quaint shops, St. Simons and the Golden Isle of Georgia where you can learn about Georgia’s early years and see beautiful lighthouses, Jekyll Island with its summer homes and, of course, time spent in Savannah is never wasted.

– Florida- There are 382 miles of I-95 in Florida with numerous locations to be visited along the way. Whether you are looking for the excitement of Disney World, the thrill of the Daytona Speedway, historic St. Augustine, out of this world fun at the Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral, the blue waters reminiscent of the Caribbean that are found in Palm Beach or the city at the trips end, Miami -you are sure to find plenty to do as you travel I-95 along the Florida coast.
