The bucket was then kicked out from underneath and the victim was hanged. Whatever the origin, the term became widely known and used after the movie of 2007 ‘The Bucket List’ where two dying men take a road trip to accomplish their ‘to do’ list before they finally kick the proverbial ‘bucket’.
