Store Design

Store design layout of any retail outlet must be such that the customers who walk in want to spend some time there. Retail store design has to have practicality for the owner and aesthetics and comfort for the customers. The kind of returns he wants to carry back home at the end of the day, will not happen then. Any retail store that sells a number of products must be set up and designed in such a way that all the products are visible and displayed aesthetically. One look at the display and it should captivate the customer. Store design layout must be appropriate for all seasons and for as many customers as the owner expects to walk in.

By and large most of the retails store designs are based on transparency. This means that there will be glass cases all around to present products for sale. It is a good idea to be able to see right across the store, from corner to corner. Retail clothing racks are stacked in alignment so that it is almost like a walk in wardrobe for customers. The product display is based either on sizes or colors. Either way the display must have individual tags and a placard on the racks with items, sizes and age groups mentioned in bold. If some products are on sale, their retail clothing racks must bear a placard saying ‘On Sale.’ The customer needs to feel like they have free reign of the display areas of the store, even in multi-level shops.

Retail store design cannot be changed repeatedly as it hinders the day-to-day operations. It is therefore imperative that you select the design based on practicality and customer convenience. It is a good idea to see the blue print or a model of the store design layout. You can make any corrections if needed in that format. In a clothing store the most important thing to remember is that clothes displayed on racks or on hangars must not appear to be too cramped together. They lose their charm. Depending on the clothes and the styles that you want to highlight you can select retail clothing racks for single or multiple displays. They come in many adjustable sizes and shapes. From round ones to long ones with double rods for double store display. There are two way racks, four way racks, spiral racks etc. They are made in iron and chrome plated in silver or black. No compromises should be attempted on the quality and size of the racks. They are actually responsible for enhancing the beauty of your displayed garment or piece of clothing. Go for the ones that are easy to clean and well balanced on their base or casters. Also, keep in mind how accessible your garments are to customers. For example, make sure an employee is readily available to retrieve garments that may be hung high on wall racks.
