The Baby Concept: Tips on How to Incorporate Your Kids Into Your Home
Life becomes different when you have kids. Suddenly everything is hectic and crazy. They scream, run around, they pull your hair and they spill over their food. And even at those crazy times you still look upon them with love and you think and say to yourself that they are just gifts from heaven.
Everything needs to be altered once you have kids; one of those things is your house. Everything suddenly feels like it’s on a fast forward mode every single day. It’s totally normal. But you have to be adjusted as soon as possible. You may live in your house with your husband or wife for the longest time but now that you have kids, it’s time to make changes. You have to incorporate your precious ones to your space.
So how do you do it? How do you put your kids in the overall design of your home? Here\’s how.
1. The first thing that you have to do is to make your house safe. This includes a number of things. Here\’s a checklist to help you baby proof your house.
+ Make sure that you eliminate all fragile figurines, vases and others things.
+ Put away all sharp and pointy objects.
+ Chemicals, medicines and other cleaning solutions should be kept away from their reach.
+ Make an effort to bolt in big pieces of furniture to the wall to prevent unwanted mishaps. As you know, kids run around and GOD knows where they get to.
2. Take some pictures of your kids. Do a snapshot of their precious moments. Be on the background as they eat, play with their toy truck, their first steps or their first smile. Hang these precious pictures on your walls and make them a part of your house\’ design. This is a great way to remember them as kids as you grow older. It will be phenomenal.
3. Take their artworks seriously. It may look like little scribbles and wiggles drawn with a crayon or two but it is how they see the world. Preserve them by framing them and also hang them on your walls. Appreciate the innocent mind of your children. They will grow up soon. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Side Tip: Label your child\’s drawings. Put in the date as when they drew it. This will be your snap shot for when they grow older.
4. Take some of their little toys and include them in the knick knacks and paraphernalia that you already have lying in your home. It can be their little fire trucks, army soldiers, nut cracker, Barbie dolls, Polly pocket houses, Lego masterpieces and teddy bears. Let them be a part of your space.
Make an effort to include your children in the overall concept of your house. With little alterations here and there, you will find that doing this isn\’t that difficult. Let your angels invade your favorite space. But then again, do not forget that you\’re still the boss of things.
