Now I once read a quip on the internet that really made me smile. Someone once wrote that “Who says quitting smoking is difficult? I have quit it five times and there is really nothing to it”. My first quit smoking tip is that you should never buy any cigarettes of your own. It really sounds like folly to someone who does not smoke that someone actually spends money on a habit that shortens his life. Hey, if you are going to smoke, you might as well smoke someone else’s cigarettes and not waste your money on them right? Follow this and you are on your way to quitting.
Another thing you should also not do is to carry cigarettes with you and I will explain why I advocate for these two tips.
First of all, while you may find some people willing to have a smoke with you, and some that will share their cigarettes with you I doubt that this will continue forever. They are costing someone else money and if they find that you are just out for freebies, then you will find your source of cigarettes diminishing which is not a bad thing if you ask me! Another thing is that if you do not carry your own cigarettes it is far less likely that you will be able to smoke on a whim and when the urges are at their highest. When you have no cigarettes to smoke, you just cannot smoke and that is it!
Anyway, these things may not work for everyone, especially people who do not have the genes to stop smoking on their own, or people who claim that they are weak willed.
