Chasing Away Flying Ants Easy With Expert Help

We all must have seen a flying ant by now and these little pests tend to come awake when the rainy season hits. When they hatch, they sprout wings so that they can fly off and find some place comfortable to start up a colony. The wings drop off after a few days so they then start to make a nest somewhere near where there is a good food and water supply. Unfortunately, flying ants see our homes as the ideal location since their needs are in plentiful supply here.

Whenever these pests get into the home, they usually congregate somewhere like the kitchen or in the bathroom so that their needs are met. Lines of them will traverse walls etc. and this can be a little disconcerting for those who live there. Even those who sleep in infested bedrooms will usually complain of bites etc. but not many people will put this down to these little creatures. Rather, they think that they have bed bugs or mosquitoes so when they get a spray to kill off the pest, these little guys do not die.

When a house is infested, the best place to look for them is outside. Find out how they are getting into the home and do something about the entrance point. If there are cracks around windows and doors, get these filled in and if windows are left open it is best to screen them to stop all kinds of pests coming in.

Where there is a garden right up to the walls of the house, try to put down sand or gravel next to the house so that they find it difficult to get through. On this, sprinkle powder specifically made just for them. They do not like the feel of the powder anyway but there is some ingredient that kills them off too. Around windows and doorways, draw a line with special chalk which stops them crossing over. This is the same as the powder but can be drawn around the sills etc. as a stopgap measure to keep them at bay. Of course, all this takes up quite a bit of time so it is a difficult task.

For the best results, naturally, get an expert in to give some advice. It may be something within the house that is attracting them, or they could just have ‘adopted’ this place and now want to call it home. Either way, leaving food around for them to crawl over, and water for them to drink will certainly mean that they are not going anywhere soon. The expert will be able to spray the home too so that the residue of the spray will stick to screens, curtains and walls which means that the pests will not come around for quite some time. This may also be a good time to spray for cockroaches and other crawling insects too so that the house can remain pest free for some time. This will need to be done again after some time so do not forget to budget for repeat sprays.
